Materials and Processes

Our Sustainable Bollard products emphasize Steel, Cast Iron (ductile iron), Stainless Steel, Aluminum and other materials that offer a long life cycle, high Recycled content and 100% Recyclability. Reliance Foundry's Bollards are Powder Coated prior to shipping, a process that provides a high performance coating which is relatively hard, abrasion resistant, and tough. When powder coated items are installed without damage and they are maintained regularly, they will enjoy a long service life. The correctly applied coating, although not metallurgicaly bonded to the metal Bollard, will not crack, chip or peel as with conventional paint films — thereby reducing the need for repair.

Lifecycle

Reliance Foundry's Site Furnishing and Bollard products further meet today's Green standards by having exceptional durability and low maintenance requirements. Reliance Foundry's Bollards are designed and engineered to live long, useful lives in outdoor spaces without the use of harmful cleaning chemicals to maintain the finish. In addition, our products are designed to allow replacement of damaged parts.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System^TM is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance, Sustainable, "Green" buildings. Developed by The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED promotes a whole-building approach to Sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: Sustainable Site Development, Water Savings, Energy Efficiency, Materials Selection and Indoor Environmental Quality. Reliance Foundry supports USGBC and the concept of sustainability.
