Plastic Bollard Covers - Installation Details

Plastic Bollard Covers Installation

1. Allow 1” to 3” over the height of the steel pipe bollard for plastic bollard cover installation to allow for fitting, cutting, foam installation strips, and grade slope/condition. Visibility can be enhanced when plastic bollard cover is slightly taller than the steel pipe bollard.
2. Slide with plastic bollard cover over the steel pipe bollard to check the fit.
3. Now remove plastic bollard cover. If necessary, plastic bollard cover can be cut to a desired length and slope at grade.
4. Crisscross the two foam strips over the top of the steel pipe bollard you intend to cover with plastic bollard cover. When the strips hang over the top of the bollard, be sure the ends are equal with each other.
5. Slip plastic bollard over the steel pipe bollard with the foam strips applied. Since the foam strips will compress to make a snug fit, you may have to vigorously slide it in place.

Optional Adhesive Installation
Users can create a more secure bollard post cover installation by using an adhesive when mounting the plastic cover over top of the steel pipe bollard. This optional adhesive spray is not included with Reliance Foundry's plastic bollard cover shipments, but is readily available from most hardware wholesalers or retail outlets.

1. Allow 1” to 3” over the height of the steel pipe bollard for plastic bollard cover installation to allow for fitting, cutting, foam installation strips, and grade slope/condition. Visibility can be enhanced when plastic bollard cover is slightly taller than the steel pipe bollard.
2. Slide with plastic bollard cover over the steel pipe bollard to check the fit.
3. Now remove plastic bollard cover. If necessary, plastic bollard cover can be cut to a desired length and slope at grade.
4. Spray one side of the foam strips with an adhesive spray readily available from most hardware wholesalers or retail outlets. Then crisscross the foam strips (with the sticky side down) over the top of the steel pipe bollard again and press the strips into place. Be sure the ends of the foam strips adhere to the steel pipe bollard.
5. Now spray both foam strips (facing up) with adhesive spray.
6. Slip plastic bollard over the steel pipe bollard with the foam strips applied. Since the foam strips will compress to make a snug fit, you may have to vigorously slide it in place.
7. The plastic bollard covers may also be secured to the steel pipe bollards with appropriate screws. Such fasteners are not supplied by Reliance Foundry, but they are readily available from most hardware wholesalers or retail outlets.
