Installation Details For Installing Decorative Bollards into New or Existing Concrete
Standard bollard mounting system makes Reliance Foundry’s decorative bollards quick and easy to install into new or existing concrete
This “decorative”, stand-alone or standard bollard mounting system is intended to set Reliance Foundry’s bollards into new or existing concrete.
Existing or new concrete applications (using an epoxy adhesive)
Step One - Installing the threaded rod
Using a hammer drill and a 1” carbide tipped masonry bit, drill a 1” diameter hole 3-1/8” inches deep
Then fill the hole with the epoxy and insert the 1” threaded rod and let it set for at least 15 minutes
Where rows of bollards are intended to be installed, use a chalk line to make sure all bollard bases are aligned correctly. This will provide a uniform look after completion of the bollard row
Step Two - Installing the Bollard
Move the bollard package near/beside the installation area
Remove the cardboard box that was used to protect the bollard base during shipment
Remove the plastic bag and place the bollard base over the anchor casting
Place the bollard base over the threaded rod through the receiver hole in the bollard base (Our metal bollards can be quite heavy, depending on the model and material selected. Take all precautions to avoid injury from falling onto hands, feet, etc., and ensure proper resources are available for lifting of these bollards into place and onto their mountings)
Apply the washer, nut and then tighten nut over washer and bollard base with a wrench
Step Three - Installing the Cap
Remove the cardboard box that was used to protect the bollard cap during shipment
Remove the plastic bag and install the bollard cap by placing it on the top of the bollard base
Install three set screws, ensuring torque is applied equally and evenly to center and secure the cap to the base
Install plastic caps (supplied with your shipment) over top of the set screw holes
Clean off bollard after installation, inspecting for any scratches or other problems
